Did you not see that interview with Mous where he said that these formations were largely irrelevant?
Something a lot of us have been saying for ages.
Teams never stick rigidly to them and the way the team plays depends on how the opposition plays, how the game pans out and where perceived weaknesses are.
They are great for the endless pundit chat, along with all the stats but that’s about it.
I agree, the team set up in that format and then become a lot more fluid and interchanging. It’s generally individual players whose roles change not the whole team. When I see something like 352 it just usually means to me that the team is probably going to play with wing backs, nothing more.
