No. Unless Jacobs is on his way & ythey didn't want to risk starting him.

Either very bad decision by DC.

2-0 down now as well!
Freeman having another shocker. Wonder if Carter or Robertson can play in a back 3?
Early 2nd half subs needed. Jacobs for Hackett, Carter for Freeman for starters.
Promising first 10 minutes but, as ever, Pompey go off the boil ! Unable to sustain the high press and spurning chances have come back to haunt us as MK take 2 of their first 3 chances…..but I would like to think that Bass would have saved the first.

Somehow Cowley has to knock MK out of their stride, they are just possession footballing us to death at the moment.

Hackett ? Never has been, and isn’t, consistently good enough to warrant his starting place, Cowley’s preference for Hackett over Jacobs should make the latter’s mind up as to where his future lies.

Freeman always gives the opposition chances, today is no exception.

Eisai is showing Marquis how to play as a striker, none of the ‘back in your own half / working your socks off’ nonsense, just be patient, take up decent positions and wait for the chance…and then take it !

As usual, game over as soon as Pompey go behind.

Curtis is even less a striker than marquis. He's an inconsistent winger and that's it.

Can't believe Jacobs is not on at half time but you get used to it. This club has been given the resources NOT to get promoted.
Better!!
At last ! Momentum and pace unsettles MK and gets us a toe hold in the game.
Modern football...try and walk the ball into the net.
Hirst off and Mr Useless on. What is DC doing?????
Will Marquis have learned from Eisa ?
Clearly Marquis learned nothing

A spirited effort but lacking defence splitting passes and, as ever, finishing.

Are we really play-off quality as some assert ?
If we had someone like Eisa, we would be playoff contenders. We don't, so we aren't.

Freemen needs benching for the next few. Same with Hackett. Not up to scratch.
Thompson should start every game. Marquis should never wear blue again. Freeman makes too many mistakes too. Rest are sort of OK. We need that new striker (of course). Next two games will tell us if we have a prayer for play-offs.
Eisa goal was very classy. Their second, you just have to applaud the finish, the back pass that set it all on motion was fucking criminal though
Why does Cowley persist with three at the back? The best they can hope for is to get away with it and, usually they don't. Why does he persist with Hackett? He delivers nothing. Is the knee-bending over at last? It's always seemed divisive to me.
I felt we were on the front foot until HF gifted them a goal but overall a pretty substandard performance. Some huff and puff 2nd half. Curtis really disappointing. freeman Williams HF Hirst Marquis hopeless. Romeo flatters to deceive and has actually delivered very little. time running out on the Cowleys for me as there is no sign of the football they promised let alone the promotion push.
