Ashamed to be a Pompey fan after seeing this footage, I hope the old bill catch those responsible and that the scummers fan is okay.

Fair enough if it was a ruck but the guy didn’t even look like a scrapper. This was just an assault from a coward green street wannabe, It was a sly headbutt on a very easy target. I’m sure the old bill will have him in no time.

As for our support base being better than that, sadly not really my experience. And these spastics are out in force every single game, sitting in the NS lower spending 90 minutes with their arms out horizontally giving it the penguins trying to goad the 200 odd hardy souls who made the trip from whatever northern shithole we happen to be playing into violence, safe in the knowledge there's an entire fucking police box separating them.

Maybe it's the huge increase in coke/alcohol use that's fuelling this behaviour, who knows. But in a group of 20 odd people surely there's one that says come on lads, maybe surrounding, intimidating, grabbing then knocking out an oldish bloke on his own in a replica shirt isn't right, scummer or not. Cowardly bunch of mouth-breathing cunts.

I know you're angry but it's a bit harsh to single out Pompey youngsters as being particularly moronic. I think you find it's the case wherever you go in  this country and every town sadly. Don't want to sound daily mail on this but until the consequences outdo the act things will only escalate in the future.

Right now it's incredibly hard to get sent to prison. That guy who kept a man as a slave worker for 40 years got a suspended sentence for example. If this guy is caught he'll be banned for life (easy to get around) or  suspended sentence - unless the victim is black etc obviously.

Football has got very complacent and think that it's all restricted to trolls but they are so wrong.

I miss the trips on the bubble bus. Travelling through their suburbs, I felt I was on the movie set for 'The Hills Have Eyes'.

I am delighted to see someone else finding the North behaviour towards the proper fans who make the long trip down to us is unacceptable and contemptible.
Would be hard for the club, but nice to see the stewards with the help of the police take action to reduce it

Yes I enjoy every game we play against them.

It’s what it’s all about ffs.

Games with an edge, and that one has the biggest edge, are the ones I love the most.

The crackle of the atmosphere, the anticipation, the unbridled joy if your team scores.

I hate the sanitisation of the current game, people seem more concerned about the seats and the catering than the match.

THE local derby against scum is and hopefully will always be a proper football experience. I loved going on the bubble bus, with the fans on the bridges as we got onto the M27 cheering us on. Then getting into Scumland and getting abuse etc as we drove passed the pubs. I have never celebrated a goal like I did when David Norris hit the back of the onion bag with that last minute strike, cue mayhem and limbs!

oh i enjoy the game, once the football starts. The rest of it just goes over the top. You don't see liverpool police having to escort fans to and from Everton. That's the sort of thing I would like to see, not the wife beating response in Glasgow (at the other extreme)
I certainly did not enjoy Moran hitting the winner, whereas I thoroughly enjoyed watching Colin Clarke miss a hat full of chances before we got two. BUT after than game, I walked back to my car, parked in Southampton, no feel of threat but very empty streets.
Once it gets to the stage of fans being threatened with serious injury or people waiting on bridged to drop bricks through the windscreen of a coach, that has nothing to do with football.
And seeing a pupil of mine locked up cos he got carried away and lobbed half a brick at the police, was not a good thing either. Incidentally, that took place a distance from fratton park too.

I'm not singling out the youngsters. We have moronic fuckwit fans of all ages and a massively higher proportion of them than nearly every other club in the country.

I don't see how you can say Pompey has a higher proportion of 'fuckwit fans' in this country when your main exposure to these idiots is presumably only at FP.  As sweeping statements go it's pretty impressive.

Anyway, if you think we're top dogs for 'fuckwit fans' that's your prerogative.  I think the country is full of them from top to bottom.

Well I still follow Pompey all over the country (not every away game but enough) and I also go to other games (like Fleetwood v Plymouth). The vast majority of fans are not ‘fuckwits’ and enjoy having a few jars and attending games with their mates. 

You get the odd nutter everywhere but they are in a tiny minority.

I wouldn’t hesitate to attend a match anywhere in the country.
