Has admitted that players are indeed injured and that none of us should be surprised if a large number of 'fringe' players play. Apparently they are not reserves.
Isn't a fringe player a reserve?
Why are these players getting injured? I know Tommo has a broken leg, but 3 other central midfielders out?
Plus Rafferty for quite a while and now possibly Raggett. Having 10 players injured at this stage of the season is very unlucky, questions need to be asked.
It does feel as though so many players out with various muscle injuries is more than bad luck and many of them take forever to recover. Rafferty's abdominal muscle strain has lasted about 2 months I think? My facts here may be wrong but it's just how it seems.

Indeed almost 2 calendar months now having been substituted Sept 3rd v Peterborough and hasn't appeared since.

We don't have a reserve team so fringe players is clearly the best description of the squad members  who are not first team regulars.  Why do you have a problem with that ?

Surely two months is not an unreasonable minimum recovery time for abdominal surgery ?
Danny Cowley not happy with the physio/ medical/ fitness team........

That's very off colour. Something going on here for sure
I wouldn’t know what the recovery timescale is for such surgery, but the general point I made I think is valid. Too many muscle injuries and too long to recover. Something amiss with our scientific support and/ or fitness training perhaps? Remember the days when a club had a ‘squad’ of about 13 players and the same eleven played 42 games with hardly an injury in sight!
Seems as if DC feels Rafferty and lowery could/should be back by now.

Definitely. He expected them both to be available on the bench 2 weeks ago.

We have 3 players: Jacobs, Pack, Lowery all out with hamstring injuries.

How quickly they return depends upon whether they're Grade 1, 2 or 3 injuries but could be 3-8 weeks.

Morrell is lower back which is difficult to know how long out .

Thomson is a multiple leg fracture which will take some time to heal  but late Dec early Jan at a guess.

Rafferty abdominal injury again difficult to know how long & sound slike a possible tear rather than a strain.

It makes me wonder what medical level care the players are receiving tbh.

They should be receiving MRI scans on the same day as injury then having a consultation with a top consultant within 24 hours.

Bearing in mind Jacobs has only just been referred to see a specialist & he's been having muscle problems most of the season.

This is even before the physio team are involved.

There's obviously a major problem which needs immediate action.
The high press must have an effect on fitness, especially if you practise it in training. and if you are training at high tempo you must inevitable get more impact injuries. Hard to hit a balance that improves results without increasing injuries.
Plenty of teams employ the ‘press’ and we’ve struggled at times with those who do. I think we’ve just been unlucky. We didn’t struggle with injuries half as much last season, with the same tactics.
That’s the American healthcare system for you.
