Interested in your view. Couldn't get down there today
We went
had a very enjoyable afternoon able to get seats together in the Fratton End
Loads of kids and teens there, really got behind the team.
Started well, attacked with energy
MK hit us on the break several times, looked really dangerous and got a goal. Not sure where the midfield went to leave Curtis as the man trying to stop the break while the central defence did likewise despite having three experienced central defenders on the pitch.
We hit back with a cast iron pen, then got a second good quick interchange. Going nicely.
The 3 less experienced players were really good today. Mingi, Hackett, Hume, Swanson
Came out for the 2nd half got another pen, again no arguements from the MK defenders.
2 up, time to attack and finish them off?
NOPE
Time to funnel back and park the bus, invite them on and wait til they score.
Subs?
Hume off, maybe worried about him getting crocked to bring on another more defender type, always works well when leading as we know.
Robertson pulls his groin, clearly no need to sub him.
Bishop, looking knackered, obviously no one on the bench to bring on who can play that position.
Struggling to win the ball and keep it? Bring on Koroma he is great at all that high press stuff.
Not to forget the 70th minute sit down by the keeper so we can have a nice cup of tea and a chat.
Oh and putting both centre halves on the 6 yard box when Griffiths kicks it, that would never invite the opposition even closer.

Actually a decent game but sad to see another pompey manager getting frightened of losing at home rather than going for the jugular when the opposition are flat.
Like that summary Hammie, you didn't mention it got very cold. we thought HUME looked very positive first half, and MINGI looked unplayable - also first half - bloody brilliant .
Griffiths seemed to alienate the ref over his , very obvious, reticence to 'hurry up' - and the expected 4 mins extra time got extended!".
However, despite them all being knackered, and MKD continuing with their passing football game plan to the bitter end we got over the line and into the 3rd round draw.
Please Rags, if we do get Manchester City FC at home .... win the frigging toss !
Rags not captain, Firq. Robertson keeps losing it apparently
Not sure you can win something that’s just luck
I've always imagined the away team calls, if they win the toss they turn Pompey around sadly

Correct.  It's always been the away captain that calls. Pretty sure that hasn't changed but will look more closely next time.
Sorry stand corrected - Robbo please implore the visiting captain to call wrong - and Blue Tag, it really was a tongue in cheek comment !
Quite surprised Blue Army hasn't returned to the fold today because I thought Raggett could be criticised for both of their goals, not totally to blame but could have done better.  Maybe a back three doesn't suit him as well as a back four.

possibly more to do with their attacking on the ground at pace and avoiding high crosses which are his bread and butter.
Might also be some questions about the defensive midfielder not blocking the through balls?

It doesn't look like Blue Army is going to "return to the fold", according to his bio  his last post was in October and hasn't even logged on since 6th of this month.

Now which one if you lot scared him off .....
