Thank fuck for that.

Nice to see the Eisners take action.
All those saying they wouldn’t do it because they don’t care etc look a bit silly now
At last,it couldn't carry on this way.
Useless from start to finish, taken us backwards.
Should have done it after the MK debacle
Great news!!!

More likely Hughes  and Cullen
Amazing how you can decimate a squad, being in below standard loans at the cost of our own players, take us backwards in the league, play dreadful football and be generally useless but because he said we’re good fans people are crying over it on Twitter. He’ll say the same old shit about the next club he joins, he doesn’t get Pompey, he says the right things.

You don’t think the Eisners ok’d it? Shows the clubs ambitions doesn’t it Cowes? Hard to take for you?
Should have been done at least 3 or 4 games ago. It had become more than clear he was unable to avert the slide we are on.

I'm a little disappointed that he didn't have the overall nouse as I think he had a good plan A, just no back-up. More sorry to see him go than some in than past. I think it was clear from his post match interview yesterday that he knew his days were numbered.

Now, please, don't lumber us with a numpty - we still have time to sort this shower out.
Faith in Tornante restored.
Will be interesting to see how players respond. Might tell us if they had pretty much downed tools.
There is hope for the season after all.

Please, please, please give us an attack minded manager.

We need to bring the joy and excitement back to the Park.

That’s the easy bit done, Tornante now need to appoint the right man for the job.

PUP
Sol where are you?

That'll be the same tornante that appointed the cowleys in the first place. Second time lucky perhaps?

Let's hope the eisners actually back the manager this time. No more loans for a start.
They've demonstrated they have learned from the four year stretch of Jacketball, so I am giving due credit for that.

Now over to Messrs Hughes and Cullen to make their first Pompey manager appointment.

Except this time they haven’t got Catlin advising them

They didn’t want loans, they said that publicly, Cullen even said we could have signed 2 players for what we paid for Walker. We could have had Bass instead of Griffiths. DC is so weak he couldn’t commit to signing someone. DC had a bigger budget than Kenny and they even broke the budget for him.

The Eisners only mistake is appointing the 2 useless cunts but they gave them every chance.
Nice guys, as was Jackett, and clearly got some things right as we had some very good runs and played some terrific football at times. But in the end I guess they were out of their depth, couldn't work out Plan B's or the right sub strategies, and for whatever reason lost the dressing room. Irrespective of who comes in, the players need to step up to the mark or be turfed out on their necks.

As for the replacement, pretty sure someone will have been sounded out. Needs to be someone in the image of Eddie Howe - young-ish but with enough relevant experience, a proper motivator who won't stand any crap from the players, and someone who can put a smile back on our faces.

In theory the squad should be good enough to get us into the play-offs as they proved earlier in the season, but we need a new keeper (or maybe, just maybe Oluwayemi), and a decent partner for Bishop. Don't think we need much else.
At last! Probably too late to regain the lost playoffs ground, but we can get some momentum going for next season.
Shame we didn’t pull the trigger when Rob Edwards was available. I have more faith in our management appointment now Hughes is there.
Kenny Jackett - nice guy, failed dismally, stayed far too long
Danny Cowley - nice guy, failed dismally, stayed far too long.

No more Mr Nice Guys!
Cook fits that bill

Actually, it took Milan a few goes to get a decent manager in.
