Remarkable, given we are hopeless on the pitch. When will our fans get something to cheer about? Are there really any signs we are going in the right direction on the pitch? At the very very least we ought to be upper end championship. 11 years outside the championship is a disgrace for a club like Pompey, but our support will always turn up. It makes us unique. The love for the club and atmosphere we can create.

In the league, clubs like Bolton have given away allocations such as 5500 to Derby, Wednesday etc which inflates their figures too. We've had many more home fans this season again compared to most clubs including Bolton and they've had better seasons and do kids for a quid etc which we seldom do for some reason. We'd have averaged 25,000 this season even being so poor on the pitch in the third tier.

Our average attendance would be much higher too with a bigger capacity, more fans would turn up especially for big games like sheff wed. We only give 1600 to away fans too. Sheff wed etc would bring 5k plus.

I'm afraid the capacity next season of 20,500 ish is not going to be enough. We need that new North stand ASAP. If the owners can't deliver that then sell to someone who can. 20,500 capacity is never going to be enough for us. On reflection, I don't think 30,000 would be enough for us. We need a 40,000 capacity.

I've been a Pompey fan for years, and I've always said there aren't too many bigger clubs than us. Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Villa, Everton, Newcastle, Man City, West Ham, Leeds but that's it. You could argue Sunderland perhaps.

My point is our support is remarkably loyal. Will we ever get back to the Championship and prem with these owners? Will we ever get our 40k capacity redeveloped stadium? I do hope so. Our fans deserve it because we are a huge club as our support this season has proven again.
I’ve really not eaten very well today. A hot dog and some rice pudding.
Shame we couldn't sell out against Port Vale or Burton though. Although, as you say, if the stadium were 30,000 we'd suddenly see another 13,000 people appear out of thin air.

I know you are a scummers fan on a windup as proven before. Pompey have soldout most games this season including yesterday's game v port vale.

He said we have loyal support and we need a much bigger ground. Not sure how that was offensive or wrong but anyway, I’m a plonker that’s the main thing
He mixes in a bit of sensible talk as bait. Don’t be suckered in.

You seem to be missing the point. It's not what he says, it's why he says it. You're not socialising with a fellow fan here; you're fraternising with the enemy.
Its actually really strange how our attendance has stood up so well for so long.
Why?
We've all been part of seven thousand or so for league games back in the day, not so long ago.
Are season tickets seriously good value per game?
Is it far more about seeing mates and the crack than the quality of the football?
Are we all insane?
