Macey
Rafferty, Bernard, Raggett, Ogilvie
Lowery, Pack, Tunnicliffe
Jacobs, Bishop, Lane

Subs:
Oluwayemi, Robertson, Thompson, Pigott, Scarlett, Dale, Hackett
Mousinho will be up for this, just hope he can motivate the team to go for it.
Shit starting XI that. Whats wrong with Robertson & Towler? Thompson not getting a game is very odd.
no Dale is good enough for me..
seems to me Robertson coming off late last game, explains why he is not playing.
I don’t get the Bernard selection over Towler. When he came on on Sat the first thing he did was tentatively dribble up the pitch in acres of space until he inexplicably dawdled and gave the ball away. Aside from looking every bit part of our shit team, surely we should be playing one of our own.
Towler has upset Mouse or Man Utd are giving him pressure, or even offering to sell him to us.
Very poor game first 20 mins, could/should have Bern 2-0 down
Having said that, great strike by Pack.
now keep 11 players on the pitch apparently the ref likes a red card

not surprising seeing that yellow
Non-existant defending again.
first rule for next year, find a back four who can stay fit and play together week in week out. Second, teach Pack to stop trying to get booked.
About the only one who's not been booked yet

and the only one who has done anything to warrant a yellow too! Astonished if he ever leaves a full team on the pitch seeing the yellow for Raggett and co
We used to be proud of the standard of English refs years ago. Now it seems any twat can get the gig. This one is possibly the most clueless yet this season. His work definitely ain’t done yet tonight.

Well he's sent 4 off in 12 league 1 games so far. And he's decided a shoulder charge is an immediate yellow. At least he's maintained the tradition of Bishop never getting a free kick in l1 going.
perhaps the constant cheating, diving and pressure on referees is achieving the result of the good ones packing in and the players and managers getting the quality of referees that they deserve

Would you want the job with the abuse they receive?

right from park and youth football level too.

Exactly and they start at park level, reffing an under 12 game getting abuse from parents. Until that is sorted the quality won’t improve.
The only way to improve that is for refs to be instructed to abandon park games where they are abused from the sidelines. With both sides receiving nil points and no replay. The behaviour would quickly improve as the players and mangers would tell the "supporters" to stay away.

A 16 year old or even 14 year old being sworn at and worse threatened by grown men is unlikely to want to make things worse by abandoning a match.

The clubs have the responsibility to ensure they are policing their supporters.

It goes through to all levels, would you want your kids to see you being torn apart on TV and social media because you judged a tackle differently to people with the benefit of multiangle replays? Even VAR hasn’t solved the issue of mistakes.

No-ones condoning the level of abuse they receive, especially at junior/amateur level where it is particularly sickening and just a sad indictment of our society.  However, once an individual achieves the right to referee at this level there are certain standards that should be maintained and it is apparent from what we witness on quite a regular basis that some of those selected are not able to maintain those standards.

Last night was a particular case in point. Some laughable decisions and unfathomable failure to punish Oxford for similar “offences”. I’m not suggesting a counsel of perfection, but FFS have some pride in your performance. There‘s a need for better accountability on their part with ongoing training and awareness of how shit they look. They are under greater scrutiny so use it as an advantage to learn from.

Besides, many at this level are old enough to be immune from the more recent rise in abuse at amateur
matches so I don’t see level of abuse as a factor in how capable our current crop of league 1 refs are. It risks putting off the new breed, unfortunately. There just needs to be some self reflection and learning - that’s what they need to stomach.
Immune from the abuse? They’ve always got abused, it’s got worse but it’s always been there. Not forgetting the abuse they get on the field, from supporters in the stand, on tv and on social media.

If you got rid of the substandard ones, we wouldn’t be able to play a full season.
