Apparently, there was a rendition of this at the end of the game, last night.

Very droll.
Difficult to argue with to be quite honest.

Not planning on living long then chaps?  Big Grin
Its ground hog day all over again isn't it...just rinse and repeat for next season.

I get the distinct feeling we shall all be having the same conversation this time next year. Just finishing outside the playoffs, just short on player quality / squad depth, strange squad selctions, tactical awareness etc etc.

At what point are we as fans going to say enough is enough??? What straw will break the camels back?
Although both teams had something to play for, only one side wanted to win last night. We were just going through the motions passing sideways and backwards.
Over the last few seasons a pattern ha emerged that as soon as we have an opportunity to succeed we take our foot off the gas. You can’t help thinking that those were the instructions from above. Ala strange squad selections, formations and general apathy.
Along with the fact that half the team looked like they were already on the beach.
Perhaps it’s because a lot of them won’t be here next season and couldn’t be bothered. That’s certainly what it looked like.
We deserve better
Instructions from above?
I wonder if the penny dropped for a lot of them when Hughes announced a couple of weeks ago that a recruitment target of 9-10 players would be required in the summer. I mean if your contract is up in June, do the maths. Form certainly seems to have ebbed away since then.

That would be God then. Interferring old bugger!
You do have to wonder if the EFL carries a lot of players who acknowledge that they are only going to kick about in the lower reaches ( league 1/2).

They, however seem to know when to stretch themselves a bit , either to seek a new contact at their existing club - or striving to impress a new suitor ?

Pompey is the biggest club many of our current players will play for. Some know that if we were to get promoted they’d be out of the door. Would you try to hard in the same circumstances?
As regards the sideways and backwards directions for the manager
Do the players actually enjoy doing that and believe in it?

It feels like there is a terrible fear of losing the ball which paralyses positive quick attacking play.

Not bad work if you can get it. £2k is over £100k a year, not bad for an average footballer who was likely in the plasticine class at school
