A sell-out reported however it was very noticeable to see groups of seats unoccupied in lower South Stand - and I heard Lower North !

Agree re the South Stand Firq. As for the North Lower dozens were standing on the concourse to take shelter from the inclement August weather so it's hard to judge. However there were 2 STs near me who have renewed but didn't show.

The league crowd figure always includes all STH’s regardless wether they attend or not as their seats have already been paid for.

There are always ST holders away on holiday early in August, but the number of empty seats in the South Stand Lower was a surprise.  Are they in the dry there ? Perhaps people had managed to find seats further back in the dry ? 

The North Stand concourse was packed with people from the front rows standing in the dry. Nice to see the stewards taking a pragmatic view and allowing it as long as they stood at the back to not block the NS Upper view.

Its too early to start the league season.
Have a couple of weeks of EFL trophy and league cup games.
Ideally, then close the transfer window.
Then start the league.

That would also free up some mid weeks to allow a few league games under the lights.
