....is the new manager at Wolves according to BBC. Good luck Gary.
Agreed!
Hope it goes well for him. Their fans are amongst the biggest divas in the country
Wish Gary the best of luck .
Happy for him. A much bigger club than Bournemouth.
Glad he is back in a job, but think he could have chosen more wisely.

Wolves have the look of a club in decline, it's going to be hard to reverse that.
Can't imagine Wolves fans being particularly ecstatic with a top class manager leaving to be replaced by an unproved novice.
It's a move that I think very few managers could take without being called a yes man. But for Gary at his age and experience I think it is a genuine opportunity. Keep them up with no signings and he proves Bournemouth wasn't a fluke.

"unproved" ???

Surely what he achieved at Bournemouth proved something, and funnily enough the achievement there is very similar to what Wolves are likely to need this season - survival with a squad that looks doomed to go down.
Confirmed 3 year deal
Not bad for what will probably be 6 months work.
To be honest I'm gobsmacked that Gary O'Neill has been appointed Wolves manager. I wish him luck as he'll need lots of it but first of all it shows Wolves have a great lack of ambition and second he should have gone down a league.

Why should he have gone down a league? He did the almost impossible keeping Bournemouth up.
It does seem something that he can’t turn down, yet really should avoid. Hope he survives it.
Hope he can keep them up as he did with Bournemouth. Their CEO came out with an odd statement saying they didn't want to lose him but wanted to change their style of play!
An ominous task ahead of him tonight at Man U - hardly any new signings and dark clouds on the financial horizon for Wolves. Added to that hardly any time spent with the players. Anything less than a 3 - 0 defeat might be considered a good result.
I personally think he’s barking mad for going there but good luck to the bloke.
I reckon he's inexperienced enough to be able to keep face whilst taking that job. Timing is also good for him, as the Bournemouth achievement is in recent memory.

Who knows, if he can keep them up without any new signings, maybe he can market himself as a new, younger Sam Allardyce style survival specialist?

If he stayed on the scrap heap any longer I would think the Bournemouth gig would become forgotten and he would be out of mind for Premier League gigs.
Exactly. Especially for a manager with less than one season under his belt. He needs to take any prem job on offer. Invaluable experience our Gary is getting right now.

Glad to know small clubs still don't get the decisions at Old Trafford. Should have finished 1-1
Wolves very very unlucky to lose. More shots and more on target that Utd. Well done Gary O'N
Great to see Wolves in their own unique colours.
Wish we would follow.

We wouldn't look good in Orange & black Big Grin
And it is orange!

If you look at their retro shirts the colour is clearly "old gold".

They've been short-changed too.
Old gold indeed
But at least they were using their traditional strip more or less at an away game.
The more I see our washed out grey thin, especially from a distance, the more I dislike.

Looks like a grubby old t-shirt
