We are not as good as most thought back then, but we are almost certainly better than what we've achieved in the past 6 games.A loss in confidence in several players and the loss of form in Robertson followed by his injury hasn't helped. But lets not forget a lot of players in the squad haven't ever experienced the pressure and expectancy that is now on them.
Remember the great escape season when we looked doomed for relegation, and a Mendez last minute winner against Man City turned the season round. We probably need one of those sort of moments to get this season back on track
There was an experienced canny manager in place then, having just taken over. Are you suggesting replacing Mousinho?
I do hope Mouse is talking to experienced managers.
We had both Awfs and Whitts who did well until a slump and could not turn it around in their first managerial job.

I do think we are still that good. This bunch has proven they can rip any team apart. We were on a trajectory where we were going to demolish any and all who came before us. We just need to get back to that confident swashbuckling mindset and performance level.

Hopefully a bit of a rest (mentally and physically) will go a long way. I'd play the boys that 1st half against Barnsley and the 2nd half against Bolton and say: "Look at this. Just do this again". Simples.

Except the players are different now so it’s not so simple at all. No Robertson and no Yengi, two key performers against Bolton

That plus 3 or 4 decent additions,

No,that would probably be the worse thing we could do
