Norris. Great distribution and a great save. A clean sheet. Macey wil have to wait 7.5
Towler. Didn’t inspire confidence but he’ll be glad to get a 90 mins. 6.
Raggett. Thé defensive rock. Even took a free kick. 7.5
Shockers. A mixture of great and shaky. 6.5
Devlin. Great energy. 8
Pack. Stifled a bit but still showed some control. 7.5
Morrell. Another cheap booking. 6.5
Lowery. Some great touches and energy. 7.5
Lane. Worked hard but no success at actually getting the crosses in. 7
Bishop. Huffed and puffed. 6.5
Kamara. A great goal but some woeful stuff too. Looks far more threatening in the centre. 7.5

Saydee. A far more positive influence. 7.5
Sparkes. We suddenly looked a little more settled on the left. 7.5
Ogilvie. Great to see him back. 7

I agree, except I'd give Bishop a 2. Did absolutely nothing.
Colby 4 or a 5
Bishop looks so laboured and lethargic this season
Personally would have given Pack top mark. Thought he ran it. Agree Devlin played well though. Wouldn't have marked Saydee so high either. Thought we missed Morrell in the 2nd half. Still trying to warm up!
Didn't catch the game - what relief to win!

Nice to see Mous trying a few different things.

I think since he returned from injury, he has been our best player consistently. Maybe a spell of watching gave him the chance to work out what his role should be, playing regularly with the same player always helps too.
He and Morrell work so well together. Shame about the M yellow. Also two needless yellows later in the game.

Think those scores are VERY generous
Pompey were dreadful today. They just about hung on to a one goal lead through the second half against the team bottom of the league. Think for a moment just how bad that really is! I think only Pack, Norris, Lane and Kamara merited a score above 5 out of 10. We know the players are better than that so what on earth is wrong? Bishop looks a fraction of the player he was a couple of months ago and thats true of a few others too. I believe Rafferty and Ogilvie will be in next week and we really need them. We need to get that ball playing centre half signed, whether it's Edmundsen or someone else and we desperately need to get a deal for Myles Pert-Harris done. He can play and at 6ft 2 ins will give us a more physical presence that Lowery who worked hard today but was often outmuscled.
Following Pompey allover the place, any points north of Watford are a bonus.
Its a win, several injured players are making their way bake at last.
Towler got some minutes.
We kept a clean sheet.
Bishop might one day get a referee that stops defenders putting both arms around him all the time.

Your last point Hammie is interesting. We've all complained about that and so do the commentators. But we've been complaining for two years and nothing ever happens, so maybe the FA instruction is not to penalise it, in which case Bishop/JM need a different strategy (like go for a much quicker number 9 like Yengi).

Seems a reasonable solution, having been at Leeds all those years ago, maybe get him to wander out to the wings and see if the big lumps follow him out there. For some reason we never get the speedy types to run fast into the box with Bishop playing the ball off for them, that frightens big defenders to death.

We weren’t great (although we did play some classy stuff in the first half) but that is ignoring that Fleetwood were a lot better than their league position would suggest. As has been pointed out elsewhere, they had players back that weren’t there before Christmas and a new manager. We’ve faced similar situations with Cheltenham and Rovers. Orient certainly didn’t play at a level you’d expect from seeing their league position. No games are easy and our recent record bears that out.

We did win and we won with a very much changed formation, due to further injury.

Onwards and upwards

Pompey, top of the league…………still!!!
