Just been looking round the tables and saw that Chesterfield are 22 points clear at the top of the National League with a game in hand!
Wonder if Cook will stay with them this time or get a crack at a Norwich or a Sunderland. Done a tremendous  job there whatever.

He has done well.but he does have a squad of players better than most of league 2 and a fair few in league 1.
wish I had seen the 5-2 on offer to win the league pre season Sad

Cook has had an unbelievable budget for a National League side which has brought in the likes of Grigg, Naylor, Jacobs and Quigley. He will finally achieve promotion at the third time of asking, a feat that a monkey could do with that squad.
He has done well but with a budget a lot bigger than the competition.

But would playing for a monkey have persuaded those players to drop down to non-league ?

It's a bit harsh to blame him for not getting promotion in 2022 when he had only been there a couple of months and had no real chance from where he started. And third last season was no particular failure behind Wrexham & Notts Co  - two unusually outstanding teams for that league both getting well over a hundred points.
Absolutely yes. They are all at the wrong end of their careers and have been offered danger pay that will dwarf some salaries on offer in League 1.
Sounds like the Saudi Arabia league
