To appease all those cash strapped Champions League teams, the F.A. has scrapped replays from Round 1 onwards.

*Slow handclap*

As with everything that upsets the PL it ultimately always ends up with a bit of blood money - barely enough for the pl to notice on a day-to-day basis - for the problem to go away.

Loved getting promoted from l1, but I won't celebrate half as much if we ended up getting jliming that feckless bunch.
I think for the coming season every club in the EFL and below should just say well we won't be a part of it this season. Let the Prem have it on their own and see how far that gets.
Seems particularly harsh on lower league clubs that, say, get a draw away at a top club = only to be denied an opportunity of a replaying front of their own fans.
Makes the Prem's performance in Europe even funnier.
The FA should have stood up for the comp and told them that they can opt not to take part or to drop out if they do not win the first game.
Make the FA Cup, the New EFL Cup if the premier league doesn't want to play then they can F**k Off prima donnas
How many of the prem managers and prima donnas will be blaming too many games for not making even the semi finals? Then voting for more European games.
Unlike our young manger they never use their massive squad to keep players fresh when needed.
Actually that point about massive squads and youth squads makes their destruction of the FA Cup even more ridiculous.
We need an online campaign to write to the new government football Tsar to get the FA cup back at the centre of things.
Sick of the Prem and FA looking out for the big cash cow.

Bunch of absolute sods.
This is a plain, selfish, greedy, (Prem) self serving decision.

This will remove so much from the FA Cup, no longer will minnows have the opportunity to scrape through to a money-spinning replay.

Worse still what can the EFL now do about the way this is going ?

Makes blood boil . Yet, yet all the once a year fat cats will still turn up for their Corporate day out at the Cup Final.
Well that's the vote for a football regulator sewn up.
Bombard Penny M and Caroline D with protests ?
The whole lot needs folding into a GovCo
Split EFL from PL and FA. Let them have their European leagues and cups. I'll be happy in the Championship. The FA would look a bit stupid with just 20 teams in the FA Cup.
Disagree. Splitting them means that their objectives and key results are not unified. That's the opposite of what we want and need. The only way money goes from the top into grass roots is if they are all part of the same organisation or all under the same jurisdiction and the constitution mandates that.

What has happened needs reversing. If not it is the beginning of the end of the 92 and within 10 years we will probably down to 50
Given that the Prem league will always get their way on this issue is there any merit in the idea that any cup tie involving a Prem team against any lower league opposition then the lower team are allowed to choose whether to play it at home or away (for a cash boost)? Probably not but I was just trying to think of any alternatives.
Still think it would be more effective for the lower leagues to tell the FA "next season, no thanks". The FA Cup is the biggest visible asset the FA has and its about time the EFL and non-league clubs showed that the Prem maybe the cherry on the cake, but the lower leagues are the cake. Let the Prem have the FA Cup played between themselves.
To coin a phrase from Winnie, "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile hoping it will eat him last". This is the FA's latest act of craven submission to the Premier League who themselves are cravenly submitting to their big clubs for fear they might run off to some hare brained Super League at a moments notice. In the end though, probably within 10 years, these clubs will either have fucked off to their vanity project European an Saudi Super League, or gain so many concessions from the cuckolded Premier League and toothless FA that any semblance of competitive integrity will have been long gone.
What an unfair crap move to placate a few teams.
This gives a massive advantage to the prem clubs going straight to pens
Draw, a lower league team away play rubbish, scrape a draw and win on pens.
Utter bollocks. The big boys stamp their feet and the rest of us have fall in line. Fook em, it takes a lot of the magic away from what should be the greatest cup competition in the world!
So how many clubs will lose out for how many in Europe?
Something like 90 compared to 6?

Has anyone got the stats for the English clubs performance at winning in Europe before and after the Prem came into being?
I'd like to see all clubs from the lower leagues make statements like this.

#TRFC have released the following statement: "Tranmere Rovers condemn the disgraceful decision taken by The FA and the Premier League to change the format of the FA Cup, including the scrapping of replays." There was no consultation with Football League clubs, National League clubs or grassroots clubs to whom the competition represents not only their best opportunity to create life-long memories for supporters but also a hugely important source of income. We also understand that FA Council members were not consulted about the changes."The decision, and the way it was taken, demonstrate a total lack of respect for the football pyramid and its fans. Football belongs to all of us and decisions should not be taken in back room deals in which only the very wealthiest clubs are allowed to participate. "It is yet another eloquent example of the 19th-century governance that means that football simply cannot regulate itself and needs the Independent Football Regulator to have real teeth. "We condemn the changes wholeheartedly and urge The FA to suspend them immediately until all stakeholders in the game are properly consulted."
Pompey have also released a statement along the lines of the Tranmere one.
Wish the plastic prem would all just fvck off into their own little bubble and play with themselves till they go blind.
So we are loading in ghd prem favour again and screw the little clubs for what would be gor them, life saving grass root money as well as a big fuck off to the common fan.
Those fans are not plastic ones who support 'winners utd' but the 'real' fans.
Did we really think they would act any other way?
Absolute wankers!
If the prem sides cannot put a team out then let them forfeit even their TV rights to the games.
It's absolutely shameful on behalf of the FA and Premier league who exhibit signs that are anything but 'premier'!

BOO, HISS
The one I remember was the replays against Wimbledon in 1979 and 1980, a Christmas Eve 3-3 draw iirc, which then led to Middlesbrough at home. Remember going to Charlton away 1-1, Norman Piper I think, and a 3-0 defeat.

Maybe there is a halfway house. Allow a team to forfeit the replay if they don't want to play it. Penalties is never a solution, who remembers Villa Park?
