Given the almost total lack of quality in the squad assembled before their arrival it was little short of a miracle that they got Pompey to the final day of the season still in with a chance of the play offs. The fact that they were then totally let down by the players who provided an abysmal 1st half performance with a barely visible 2nd half improvement should not be what they are judged against. I like what they have attempted to achieve in playing style but it was simply beyond most of the current squad in terms of the quality needed or in some cases basic footballing skills such as passing to one of your own. It was also difficult to make progress when at times they were operating without strikers. So, sign them up but importantly the owners then have to let the Cowleys rip up this squad and rebuild it. Then they can be judged.
