The problem is we will be outbid for the decent players when up against Shef Wed, Ipswich, S'dld so we'll only have 2nd or 3rd choice players. That's one reason for developing our own talent. Alternative, is bring in good Premier & Championship loans.

I've thought about this and although VS-O didn't set the world on fire when he was last here,maybe he meets the Cowleys brief on style, tactics and teamwork. After all Jackett brought him in last time and he was completely clueless about positioning and tactics

There is danger of judging him based on the one incident that cost us so much. I'd rather judge him on his more recent form and the player he is now, but have to say he still looked nothing special for Wigan last year. He'd certainly be a good test of the Cowley's coaching abilities.
Surely it would make sense to bring players never before tainted by Pompey?
Here's an idea, just chucking it out there....Why are we looking in the UK for bargain basement players? Are there any talented young "cheap" African, East European players - whatever - that could come and play for us on a two / three year contract? Just sayin loike.

Because they've already taken the £50 that the greedy agents have signed them up to contracts..so they are'nt that cheap by yhe timevthey get here

This just makes depressing reading. In terms of transfers we always turn up after the Lord Mayors Show. It happens year after year. No reason to expect it will be any different this year.

Even longer since we bought a Sailor from The Senior Service
