Michael Pope appointed as Pompey’s new Goalkeeping Coach today. Only 35 and was at Scums academy from 2020. Not a lot of experience, but let’s hope he’s a better coach than goalkeeper!

Poke initially arrived at Pompey in Marh 2020, leaving Southampton to become the Academy goalkeeping coach.

His performance in the role, which also involved stepping up to the first-team for the final two weeks of last season, hugely impressed Danny Cowley.

the very best players rarely make top coaches. Probably cannot understand lesser types.
