Enough of this gloom and doom - only beating Fleetwood 1-0 in a scrappy game.

Been racking my brain to remember the last time we won when our opening game was away. Am sure it was 1988, the season after relegation from the old first division under Alan Ball.

Won 2-1 at Shrewsbury's old Gay Meadow ground with Mark Kelly on his debut scoring at our end in the final minutes!

Yeah remember that game well . We arrived at half time as coach driver got lost !! We got in second half to see Kelly curl a winner into top corner and all was forgotten. Back on the coach and off home .

Was my first away game as a car driver - think it was August Bank Holiday and took 4 hours to drive from the East Midlands to Shrewsbury! Just made the kick-off though most didn't.
