Ipswich were struggling financially, not sure if they have found a way out of that.

Ipswich have learnt zilch from their last meltdown. They were bought by an investment group and would be mightily fecked if they hadn't bought promotion this season. These sort of investors don't hang around for long and will soon start squinnying about the huge amounts of cash needed for the championship.
Plymouth's owners have spent big on the ground and are hardly doing it on the scrounge either.
Fact is, unless you're willing to go for it be prepared for a long time in League 1.

the worrying thing about that type of ownership is they often sell the ground.
We have owners who are steadily upgrading the ground and buying up further real estate. As and when they ultimatelly sell up we will have a club that is far better placed long term than ever in my life time at least.

Ipswich fan in peace.
Just wanted to address these statements on our owners. We were a club in a lot of debt. Marcus Evans wrote off the entire debt when sold leaving us and the owners in a really good position. We've lucked out with them. They aren't a faceless American bunch, they are very communicative and open. They have spent loads on the ground and infrastructure and bought up real estate around the ground. They have a US team and Danish team and have put the communities first in all 3 and grown the clubs from bottom up. The money is a 13 billion dollar pension fund so they are not loose and fast with the cash but very well funded and not a quick buck scheme. Contrary to popular belief we have not thrown loads of cash at it. Ashton is an excellent negotiator and business guy. Well connected. We sold Dozzell, Downes etc for millions and spent less then we brought in. We can't overspend on wages but having gone from 16-17k gates to 26k average + new commercial deals we have more revenue to spend within the rules. We absolutely do not 'need' to go up but obviously it's the plan.
Pigott was one of the few financial mistakes in that quite high wages for the division and he wasn't going to play. Really want him to do well with you though - a good guy and a player in him.
Fyi Harness has been good. First game back from injury today. His first touch needs work at times, maybe why hasn't stepped up to champ. Dangerous player but in and out of games.
Good luck for the season after end of week.
