The easy and cheap option would have been to keep Cowley. We would have gone nowhere but it would have saved us a huge wedge.
There would be absolutely no point in engaging Bassey on anything other than a temp cost saving basis.
If the idea is to write this season off then yeah, ok.

if they had wanted to right off the season then they would have retained Cowley.
Trouble is that under the brothers we have done worse pretty much every season than under Jackett.
For whoever comes in we really do need the fans to get right behind the players for the rest of the season. We might be getting to where playing at home is no longer the supportive noisy atmosphere it once was.

Unfortunately, we will probably do worse, most seasons, than we did under Jackett. His consistent points tally was quite impressive. It’s just the manner that those points were gained that we have a problem with.
Hopefully it’s an indication that entertainment wins, over results.
