Bellingham, Kane, Pickford ...umm...Walker and.....er, ummm...Saka.
THERE is your world class England team capable of winning a tournament.
As long as it's a five-a-side competition, we have nothing to fear.

Altogether now.....It's coming home, it's coming home....hands, touching hands.....(continue ad nauseum)

Pickford world class ??  Not in my book.

Bellingham definitely, Foden probably, and maybe Kane & Walker in the past but not definitely still so now.

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - dsmg - 10-06-2024

Kane had an incredible season, 44 goals in 45 matches. Still looks world class to me.

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - Jezzer - 10-06-2024

Yes, extremely harsh on Kane. Name a club or country 11 he wouldn't get in? Agree about the rest though and would add Palmer to the "potentially" world class list.

World class players tend to have won a trophy sometime in their career.

Don't get me wrong I think he is a very very good player but his age and lack of success make him fall just short of world class in my book. If we were to win the Euros with him doing well then I would change my mind.

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - Tufnell_Chimes - 10-06-2024

Kane made the mistake of letting his brother be his agent - really terrible decision that's blighted his career.

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - exterminator - 10-06-2024

Well I'm  out in Germany for a group game & a last 16 game  just for the craic ( & the German beer!!) & to be able say I've been to a Euro tournament. I'm also hoping to get out to Canada, where my son lives for a couple of World Cup games in 2026......

Personally I don't expect England to get beyond the last 8, I'm lucky as  I was alive when England won something,  the World Cup in 1966,  albeit watching in Emsworth on my great aunts little Black & White TV.

p.s. Kyle Walker has never been a World class player & at 34 in unlikely to ever be one.

With England you always hope for the best and then wait for the kick in the nuts!

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - Tomsk - 13-06-2024

C'mon you Krauts... (actually am I allowed to say Krauts these days?)

Watch out for those Serbian coonts, remember the first rule of Pompey Club, if in doubt, lash out!

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - Hammie - 14-06-2024

Will the focus on defenders and goalkeepers who are good passers end up with us looking great but losing to team who defend better than us?

Sweaties getting a right hamnering from the Bosch  Big Grin

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - Theyak2 - 14-06-2024

3-0 HT
Sweaties down to 10 men!
Looks like a great night for England!

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - exterminator - 14-06-2024

Scummer Adams has been substituted at half-time, not surprising he hardly touched the ball in first half Big Grin

A proper beating. Not that any of the kilt-wearing lovelies will remember.

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - Theyak2 - 14-06-2024

Herr Flicks 5-1 Sweaty Socks
Chastening defeat. Robertson thought Scotland had a game plan!
What was that?
Rollover and play dead!
They looked good doing that alright!

Now for England......... :-)
What could go wrong

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - Gerry Hatrick - 15-06-2024

Lovely touch of compassion by the Hun, putting the ball into their own net to show them how it's done.

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - The Realist - 15-06-2024

Teirney's first half celebration for winning a goal kick was embarrassing and just's shows how far Scottish football has fallen.

I know Germany were up against a pub team last night, but it was noticeable how they quick they were and how hard they worked right up until the final minute. If that had been England and it's international Jacketball tactics we'd have settled for 1-0 and be hanging on.

Can't wait until Kenny - sorry Southgate - has gone although I haven't got a clue who I'd choose to replace him. All I know is that win or lose its effing painful watching England.

often the best way to ope with a team that you know is not good enough

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - exterminator - 15-06-2024

Spain now giving Croatia a thumping, 3-0 up at half- time. England are really going to have to step up to the plate to get anywhere in this tournament.

RE: Euro 2024 Tournament - 66zoolane - 15-06-2024

Is this co-commentator Lee Dixon or Karl Pilkington?  Big Grin
