As regards Mouse, Bournemouth fans were very worried when they appointed Howe.
Having said that, in 50 odd years of following Pompey, we succeed with experienced managers. Hopefully the key difference can be the recruitment set up, leaving a newbe to just do the coaching and team set up.

That’s exactly why he is Head Coach and not manager.

As long as it is not as boring as the Gregory and Fenwick days I shall be glass half full.

It's a mixed bag. This is the first time in a long time that we've had a proper development strategy.... but the last time we had something like that, we tried to start a basketball team!

And very successful it was too! 2 league titles and European tours if memory serves. It fell apart of course once the money run out... Pompey innit.
