change kits - Hammie - 23-11-2021

previously we have been told that is not possible to mix and match kits as a justification for having a plethora of away kits that avoid using traditional colours.
looking at tonight's pictures, that appears to be untrue.

Seems strange that red socks are deemed a no-no when teams like Plymouth, Stoke (away kit) and others are allowed to play in matching pitch green shirts. You can hardly see them on the TV anyway.

It's got nothing to do with TV.   You are not allowed both teams wearing the same colour socks because that could confuse the referee looking at a tangle of legs in a tackle.  Teams often change socks but keep the main kit and always have done.

Was it last season or the one before when ?!?.... whoever turned up, and their kit exactly matched the day glow jackets of our Stewards.....nice!

I had to referee a game with both school teams in the same kit pretty much. Hampshire Cup deadline day for the next round, no lights. Mountbatten in January getting dark and sleeting all game!
Damned hard when the socks are green for both teams, the rest of the kit not so much of a problem strangely.
