Cowleys - Jizbag - 22-01-2022

Just fuck off!

You're having a laugh.

Nope, they've brought nothing to this team. Worse than Jackett, far worse actually.

RE: Cowleys - mikey393 - 22-01-2022

Tactically No idea.

RE: Cowleys - dsmg - 22-01-2022

We played excellently for 25 mins (just like last week) at a place like Sunderland. We just can't score goals mainly because our crossing is atrocious. Persiting with Hackett seems very strange though especially with Jacobs playing so well when he comes on.

RE: Cowleys - jamieh1891 - 22-01-2022

Honestly the worst footballing team at fratton park in year's due to cowleys poor tactics.
Michael Jacobs is the best player in our squad yet spends 75 minutes on the bench. Louis Thompson brings nothing to the midfield. Harness thinks he is a prime Messi & wants to do it all by himself. Absolutely shocking. Yet will get the same old drivel on youtube, ' I think we started well blah blah blah

RE: Cowleys - Pedalo_menders - 22-01-2022

They do test your patience though...

Pandering to Curtis- Not a striker and a worse finisher than Marquis FFS.  What the hell are they doing playing him up top?

Not playing Jacobs - Our only dangerous player.

They need to do something about our attacking play because its excruciating watching bang average players like Curtis homosexual about when the actual footballers are left on the bench.

Edit: it seems you can't say 'p0nce about' apologies i didn't realise it was a derogatory term!

RE: Cowleys - ForeverPompey - 22-01-2022

well if stats mean anything we are in a worse position now than under jackett last year, plus have dropped from one of 3 top scorers in lge1 to one of 4 lowest scorers. Not saying that is the whole picture but it doesn't bode well for DC future. He's not improving things for sure.

RE: Cowleys - Jizbag - 22-01-2022

Our owners need to start taking this club seriously and employ a proper football manager who knows his stuff. Take some advice and stop trusting that it'll come good, because it won't. It didn't under Jackett and it's not going to with these clowns.
Anyone who persists in playing Curtis up top and Hackett in most games is basically a coont.

RE: Cowleys - mikey393 - 22-01-2022

Could be Taxi for the Cowleys very soon unless things improve immediately & we go on an unbeaten run.

Get in a Strikers coach now before it's too late!

RE: Cowleys - dsmg - 22-01-2022

Bit unfair on Thompson. He won the ball back on several occasions and linked up really well with Morrell first half.

RE: Cowleys - Smirnoffexpress - 22-01-2022

Cowley is a bluffer, all smoke and mirrors.

RE: Cowleys - Bedhamptonblue69 - 22-01-2022

Strike me as a pair of over enthusiastic PE teachers . Full of fancy ideas and strategies and waffle . Worse than Jackett !!

RE: Cowleys - Roybatty - 22-01-2022

Clownleys

RE: Cowleys - ForeverPompey - 22-01-2022

If the attendance drops away to maybe 12k as the season dies on its feet their position will become untenable I think. Still time for things to improve but it’s hard to be optimistic

RE: Cowleys - Pedalo_menders - 22-01-2022

Definately not worse than jackettball but still incredibly frustrating. We were the better team for virtually the entire match today. Putting the ball in the net just seems impossible for our players at the moment.

RE: Cowleys - Ain’t got a Danny - 22-01-2022

Bullshit baffles brains.

But only money buys houses.

RE: Cowleys - Hammie - 22-01-2022

if we want to coach strikers then Whitts has been watching the team for years and is available as a coach for the odd day a week, its pretty much what he does. Steve Claridge too.
Having said that our problem might not be the striker so much as the final ball to the striker. Maybe too much focus on over complicated football and not enough on simply crossing and getting bodies in the box.

RE: Cowleys - 66zoolane - 22-01-2022

Give them a longer chance. I still have more confidence the Chuckle Brothers might take us up (eventually) than Kenny.

RE: Cowleys - Wightblue - 22-01-2022

The first 4 or 5 games under Cowley gave me real hope: high energy, high press, movement and some goals……but it’s been downhill ever since !

As Pompey fans, we have to face some unpalatable facts, nobody any decent is going to come to manage Pompey. The unemployed ? Yes ! A payday is a payday after all- especially when your last job was quite a few months ago but if you have talent and ambition why would you want to manage Pompey ?

Compared with most of L1 and 2 we are a big club with big gates but with a small playing budget and no recognisable Youth/Academy set-up (and where the owners have little commitment to the playing budget, yes they are prepared to spend on fixed assets but not on the squad which is what the manager needs).

As someone has already said, Cowley is all smoke and mirrors, he can talk the talk but trips up every time he tries to walk the walk !

29 goals in 26 games, a virtually full strength side beaten by non-league Harrogate at home in the FACup tells you all you need to know about Cowley, his players and his tactics and methods.

Still, only another three and a half seasons of him to go and we’ll likely recruit yet another no-hoper.

Is that non-league Harrogate who currently sit mid-table in L2?

Asking for a friend.

RE: Cowleys - bluetagagain - 22-01-2022

The problem is we have 2 wide players who can’t cross and would rather try for goal themselves rather than play the striker in. We have had a problem for nearly 4 seasons, in our strikers don’t score . So using the process of elimination ,we’ve got rid of the strikers, we’ve changed tactics , goalkeepers, defence and midfield so using that process I would say it’s Harness & Curtis not playing as widemen/ wingers/ suppliers ( call them what you want), that’s the problem.

Do you EVER look on the bright side of anything?

Admittedly things aren’t going to plan but it’s not quite wrist slitting time yet.

We are letting in very few goals, so if we can start scoring all is not lost.

Maybe they will surprise us all  Smile .

Plastic sheets out in force tonight

RE: Cowleys - essentialmix75 - 23-01-2022

Cowleys, Would be right at home on this website (with most of the people), they Refuse to see What is right in front of their face, Michael Jacobs needs to start a run of games if we are to have any chance of the playoffs.
