Half time report - dsmg - 12-02-2022

Fairly carp so far. Walker touched it twice (he always seems to be behind his man). Thompson playing very well. Raggett the star as usual as he cleared miraculously off the line and also made another last gasp tackle. Carter and Robertson good. Jacobs playing ok. Hackett and Hirst endeavour but not much else. Harness and Curtis pretty ineffective. Baz not much to do. Hopefully better in the second half.

you got your hope

Best moment of game apart from our goals... announcement that replacing no 9 Tyler Walker... crowd unanimously shout ‘who’. He was absolute carp for the 6th time. What a waster. Can’t even be bothered to try.

its a shame about Walker as he has a better scoring record than Hirst. Maybe we have to continue to be patient as Hirst is gradually winning the fans over, but it has taken a while. But with his replacement scoring straight away, he might have to become a super sub to get a start again.

Walker not getting any plaudits from Wittingham either.

Hirst has firmly won me over though. Taken him long enough but now I hope he will get a few more goals. I’m almost teetering on the point of suggesting he could earn a contract. If not with us, some other side who are watching his performances.

He's already got a contract - with a premiership team.

But you are right he will need another one because there is a big difference between not being as shit as we thought he was  and being a premiership player.

Leicester signed him in 2019. A four year contract would probably have been unlikely but it would be interesting to see what happens in the summer.

Premiership class? That’s stretching it a bit but I think he could still do a job in league 1.
