Wimbledon job - PompeyDB - 29-03-2022

Some sources have Cowley as low as 5-1 third favourite to be the next Wimbledon manager. Probably bullshit of course, and who knows where these odds come from, but perhaps our manager being linked with a team heading for league 2 tells you something about either our ambition or Cowley's lack of faith in the club. Who knows.

RE: Wimbledon job - Hammie - 29-03-2022

He doesn't seem the sort to move on while his job here is safe, and under our owners his job is most definitely a long term appointment if he can show progress for a season or two.
Why he would pick Wimbledon anyhow makes absolutely no sense.

This "story" is the usual "Snooze" lazy journalism in not checking their leads & facts correctly.

DC was favourite for the "Wombles" job when they sacked Glyn Hodges in January 2021, but Mark Robinson was given the job on a temporary then permanent basis.

Why would the Cowleys leave PFC with the job only half done to go to a club supported by a few flat capped fools and their greyhounds?

Fingers crossed.

Cowley job is as safe as houses for at least another year minimum and maybe with a two year extension if he can show even a modicum of success (e.g. Papa John’s final) without exceeding Eisner’s playing budget whatever it may be.

Wimbledon have better bets than Cowley if they want to try to prise someone from their current employment but I don’t think they have the money, I suspect they will make their choice from the list of unemployed football managers instead…..like Eisner did.
