Wigan offered Jack a 2 year contract. We offered a 1 year contract. Let's get the facts straight please.

And with reference to Burgess, it was a total cockup to allow his contract to run down. I was banging on about that at the time. The sad thing though is that he is better off without us! Undoubtedly made the right decision.

Does this still occur ?

And if so Deep ..... "They matched Wigan's wages offer but we're not prepared to go  for the 3 year length of contract" ....
it would have provided some security about giving Jack the longer term he obviously desired.

No doubt insurance is still available at a price, both for the players and the clubs.  But be serious, who would insure someone with an injury record like Jack ?  The premium would be as much as his wages.

You're right there about premium levels as it's all about risk levels in insurance.

But, I think you'll find that Jack hasn't missed a game through injury since joining Wigan.

That may well say something about Pompey's training methods & Roko playing surface.

Quite a few other players including Jacobs have picked up injuries in training.

You're right,  it was not 3 years v 2 years, it was  2 year v 1 year with an option for more based on appearances.
