Cullen backs Cowley - Gerry Hatrick - 21-12-2022

Looks like he's getting to the end of the season.

Cullen says: ‘Danny is one of the most conscientious, hard-working managers in the game, who has a shrewd attention to detail and is a top, top coach. 'We believe in supporting the manager, there is no quick fix in football and we want to be as supportive as we possibly can.'

Etc. in The News today.

I don't know if Eisner is a country and western fan but we need a bit more punk right now. He wants to look noble by standing by his man when he should be listening to The Stranglers' message that something better change.

We’ll be off on a 12-game winning run then. Streaky or what?

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - slayer - 21-12-2022

Think I'll make arrangements to have the kids every Saturday for the rest of the season then.

If they can't be arsed, nor can I.

The vote of confidence normally comes before a sacking.

I’d rather a lazy good manager, hard work isn’t enough in football management.

Teachers work hard….

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - TBP - 21-12-2022

Are you sure that this vote of confidence is not leading into an imminent sacking? If Cullen keeps him on, he is accepting some responsibility for failure, so he will have to go too.

Sounds like a ringing endorsement of our recent form. Expect further gnashing of your teeth over the next few weeks.

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - Ain’t got a Danny - 21-12-2022

Cullen will be His Masters Voice. He won’t get the blame - plus they’d have to find another CEO for essentially following the company line.

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - Hammie - 21-12-2022

I think everyone has agreed that Cowley is a good man, works hard and all the rest.
I just think he is better suited to being given a long contract to set up and run the youth system extending to U23 once we get a bit more land as discussed by Cullen.
Then add a boss upstairs and a first team coach personage.

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - slayer - 21-12-2022

Well there you have it folks - the manager is doing a great job and they are very happy with his performance

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - Gerry Hatrick - 21-12-2022

Basically repeating the mistake they made with Jackett of waiting too long to take action.

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - slayer - 21-12-2022

I supposed we had best remember who we are and know our place. Pompey isn't ours, it's there's.

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - Cunninglinguist - 21-12-2022

I’m very happy with the owners.

I’m quite happy with the manager.

I really am not happy with certain players.

It’s never been ours ffs what are you talking about?!

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - dsmg - 21-12-2022

The trust?

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - 66zoolane - 21-12-2022

Always been ours with a lot of caretakers down the years - some too reckless but these too careful.

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - dsmg - 21-12-2022

Remember when we had the enormous Ours written in the Fratton End.

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - Hammie - 22-12-2022

It did feel very special. But could us fans have afforded to pay 10 million or more just to keep the stands open?

No of course not, so it was Hobson's choice in the end. I'd still like to hear the players' excuses rather than DC's!

I don’t give a flying fook who is paying the bills nor who happens to be the owner. PFC is mine.

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - dsmg - 22-12-2022

Ours, you mean

RE: Cullen backs Cowley - Ain’t got a Danny - 01-01-2023

I’m listening to Cullens interview with Andy moon on Solent.

Painful.
