I would be over the moon if Man City were properly found guilty and punished. That would have such a good knock on down the leagues to discourage owners from gambling clubs on a personal glory thing.
They could be relegated as a punishment, as long as that was accompanied by properly enforced financial rules at champ level too.
Along with the government white paper on football governance, we might just see some proper effort to bring football finance back into reality. Which would do us as a club a lot of good.

One rule for the big boys, a quite another for the likes of pompey. The PL couldn't wait to boot us out, but Man City will almost certainly get away with this with a small fine.

I'm not so sure.
As Eufa limited their own investigation, the PL could just say ok that's been investigated.
Of course it could all be a smoke screen to ward of the govt white paper that is currently in the cabinet office awaiting final tweaks.
But to name over 100 problems seems like they might just mean business and actually Man City are not really one of the big boys until all this money arrived, ditto Chelsea.

"Gifts" would appear to the layman to be an accepted practice in the homelands of both FIFA and the Middle East.
This latest rap will cost them, but not very much by their terms.
They may even have the courtesy to ask if they prefer cash or credit.

Regards one rule for us and another for the big boys, I haven't forgotten a certain team on the Mersey who had a terrible season and were in need of a European place one year.

My take on this is that it will be VERY difficult for the PL to just bin this - hand out an innocuous fine whatever.
If they did it would stoke up major trouble in the future, with clubs citing Manchester City FC as the paradigm for their actions.

Like refs who favour the big teams, the premiership mandarins are culpable as any top club in this matter, if this does go the full distance and sanctions are handed out, could be the collapse of the premier league as we know it, which wouldn't be a bad thing.

Let them fester in the premier league cess pit they have helped make. Fine them 500 million and give it in equal payments to league one and two clubs.

that would be nice, although a fine to a club such as they is pointless, only a European ban or relegtion will make any diffrenece tot hem at all

They will issue a "punishment" and consider the matter closed, akin to a yellow card being considered the matter dealt with during a match and being beyond repeal.

I reckon the Prem will use any evidence to strongarm Citeh into rejecting any future EuroSuperLeague. With all the American and Saudi billions being poured into the Prem, those new owners are going to want to expand the 'business' sooner or later.

listening on the radio on the way home, they said it is most likely the rest of the big European clubs trying to find a way to match the funds that English clubs in the Prem rake in. Its not only us English clubs that are suffering by the over splurging in the Prem.

Yep, they’ve seen the future and it’s Real Madrid battling it out for signatures with the likes of Norwich. But they are creators of their own downfall for concentrating all the money into a very small handful of clubs and dominating their respective leagues. Makes terrible TV for a global audience. If they want to seriously compete with the Prem they need to share more of the pot, up the jeopardy and invest in proper lower leagues - but they won’t, because that runs counter to their avaricious tendencies. Scorpions and frogs, and all that.

It won't make any difference because the damage is done. They now have the facilities, stadium and financial clout to withstand any temporary loss of points or position. Getting them relegated will only gift them the championship title (just like they did to Saracans in Rugby Union I think) in showboating fashion.
Let them all feck off to the ESL. It means nothing to us unless anyone wants to spunk billions and all the dictators have chosen their clubs already so that ship has sailed. Even the FFP itself is flawed because the big clubs would have the biggest stadiums so will have the biggest budgets so will continue to outspend anyone trying to disrupt the cozy club.

Newcastle's dictators literally dared the PL to turn down their takeover bid and look what happened after that. They caved into them just like everybody else.
