Milton/south stand corner - firqdays - 13-03-2023

Anyone any idea on the plan for the, Milton/South stand corner?

Obviously the stand roof extended, closing the drafty corner. Is it all facilities for the Milton end?

Think there are extra toilets for the south stand going in there too but not sure. There was a YT video where they went through what was happening there

The rail seating in that corner looks almost done. Wonder then they are going to start work on the other side.

doubtless have to wait for a safety certificate so everything else in place before they begin the other half

brick by brick stage one is nearly done.

Andrew Cullen in Saturday's programme work continues to progress in the Milton End ... ...We are hopeful that we might be able to open this section to home supporters for the fixtures in April with Forest Green, Morecambe and Accrington where demand for away tickets can probably be fully accomodated in the North Section of the Milton End. Peds as I understand it work starts on the other side immediately after the final game of the season Wycombe.

Noticed the random assortment of breeze blocks and red bricks lobbed together on this last week. Wtf?

I’d expect them to be covered.

It’s a shame they couldn’t fill that corner in up to the new build even if it’s a few hundred seats

I think Cullen wrote about filling in corners a short time ago. Talked about how much it cost to do at Norwich and how few seats resulted. Went on to talk about the North upper development being far more viable, financially. The fact he has mentioned that major next step suggests it is being at the very least considered.

I was only thinking of a basic structure bolted to that new build even if it put another 150 seats in 150 x£25 x23 games is over 80k extra for the season wouldn’t cost that much to build. But can’t find a picture of that corner to see if it was viable.

RE: Milton/south stand corner - bluetagagain - 29-04-2023

Great, let’s just bolt bits and pieces on!!!!

RE: Milton/south stand corner - slayer - 29-04-2023

No need to worry about the brickwork looking lobbed together like utter shit, we will clad it!

Only this club.

RE: Milton/south stand corner - Pompeyg100 - 29-04-2023

The club are using experienced builders and all their work will conform to building regs.

How many walls have you built?

RE: Milton/south stand corner - slayer - 29-04-2023

How many professional games of football have you played that you come on here to pass comment on?

RE: Milton/south stand corner - bluetagagain - 29-04-2023

However we don’t spend our Saturdays or
Tuesday’s etc travelling to watch brickies . Don’t think commenting on football and building works are comparable. Just saying loike.

RE: Milton/south stand corner - slayer - 29-04-2023

What are the chances of a supporter at the game being in the building trade?

"Oh yeah"

RE: Milton/south stand corner - Hammie - 29-04-2023

The days of bodging it seems to be gone now, with the trial openings and all that, width of walkways and all the rest. Although Gillingham's away end does ask some questions

RE: Milton/south stand corner - slayer - 29-04-2023

Gillingham just need a bit of plywood
