Yes and your articles back up what I said lol.

Training compensation. The news article even says the training compensation is far less than the transfer fees the club could have got in January.

FFS ... I said the fee was training compensation in the first place and you said I was wrong.  You said there would be no fee, you were wrong.

Training compensation is a fee paid on the transfer of a player to another club. It is a transfer fee by any definition of the term.

You honestly trying to claim training compensation and a transfer fee are the same thing??

I doubt his agent would see any of the training compensation.

Mikey was suggesting the agent turned down the contract in order to get a slice of a transfer fee. I never said there was no training compensation. There is no transfer fee as any reasonable person would consider it.

RE: Jay Mingi possibly off to Charlton - DeepBlue - 07-06-2023

Training compensation is a fee paid on the transfer of a player.  No avoiding the fact that that makes it a form of transfer fee.

Lol is that you conceding training compensation is not the same as a transfer fee as any reasonable person would see it?

I know you aren’t a reasonable person DB don’t worry.

RE: Jay Mingi possibly off to Charlton - dsmg - 07-06-2023

Is this the five minute argument or the full half hour?

RE: Jay Mingi possibly off to Charlton - slayer - 07-06-2023

Do training compensation fees have release clauses?

Probably drag it out until we sign someone.

His agent then says I can get you a better deal at Charlton so the offer is turned down. Quite often the offer is made directly to the agent who then turns it down on behalf of the player. If you watched The Academy about Palace youngsters most have agents at 14!

Well yes Mikey you don’t have a dog and bark yourself. Your post suggested the agent makes the decision not the player and that is not the case. The agent deals with the club but the player decides if he is going to sign a contract or not.

Again, the contract hasn’t been turned down.
The player makes the final decision but can be heavily influenced by his agent. If there's a transfer fee involved his agent will get a slice of that. This is Not entirely about money though. It's also about game time which he wasn't getting so his agent's advice was to look for another club with a manager who more rates him.

How the fuck do you know what his agents advised him?!

So you agree your post was incorrect then?

There is no transfer fee ffs.

I know what this is about Mikey, I’ve already posted that.

There is a transfer fee.

Because of his age we will get a training compensation fee from whoever buys him - the News estimated that at £35k.

The News article you quote says 30 thousand and they also state that Pompey risk losing Mingi on a free transfer.

Can’t have it all ways, Deep. It was your link.

G wins.

Would that signing be via a transfer fee or a compensation fee? Asking for a friend.

It depends on the release clause

Like the way this Heated Debate has progressed!

We certainly don't want him leaving on a Free Do We?

Also, why turn down offers from Championship sides in January if you don't intend to play him.

I think we'd all like to hear JMs take on this.

The News Link Sums it up if you read it again:
https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/footb...et-4102378

The agent is in full charge Not the player.

Agents these days have all the power even screening who the player is allowed to talk to.

It's quite worrying but that's the way of football these days.

Just when one idiot in the wrong disappears as if by magic Mikey pops up to fill his place.

He can only leave on a free transfer with his next club paying training compensation, about £30k.

The agent does what the player tells him. End of.

Do you think your solicitor would phone you and tell you he’s started divorce proceedings without you or your wife (god bless her) asking him to?

Christ anyone would think this was a multimillion pound payday for the agent, he’ll probably make about £500 if he’s lucky.

Of course he is along with his pal Cunni.

Neither of them have a clue how a professional football clubs work!

We really need Blue Army to explain it for you both.

The agent like a solicitor ( Not a Good compariison btw ) advises their client to take a certain action using their experience.

Yes, the client i.e. Minghi makes the final decision but will be swayed by his agent.

Hopefully you both now understand how it works but I probably guess Not.

All the player & agent want is the opportunity to have more game time which is down to the manager.

There may well be other tings going on here which none of us are party to though.

At the end of the day he's a good young player who they really need to try to keep.

Are you sure your comprehension skills are up to this debate, Mikey?

Lol Mikey, I’m glad you’ve conceded AGAIN that the player makes the decision and not the agent, try not to change your mind on that again.

I don’t think you know how anything works to be honest, you claimed all season you couldn’t work out how to buy a match ticket.

RE: Jay Mingi possibly off to Charlton - West Australian Portsmouth Fan - 13-06-2023

When I first posted this thread I could never imagine the amount of petty arguments it would set off! Well it is the football silly season I guess, the twighlight zone between the end of the last season and the beginning of the next. In a way it’s been even worse than that it’s almost what I would call the ‘insanity season’ between the end of the season and the start of the transfer window where nobody has anything to do on football forums but sit and stew what was and and what might be coming and without anything to stimulate the senses it just devolves into something of a stagnating mess. I think this thread captures that feeling perfectly. It’s been mildly entertaining in a twisted sort of way anyway. Roll on the next phase, which so I hear starts tomorrow. The actual ruddy transfer window. BEDWETTERS START YOUR VENTING!!!
