Programme collections - RamDCFC - 30-06-2023

Evening all, Derby fan here very peacefully. Pretty impressed with the business you guys are doing this summer, expecting to be challenging with you at the right end of the table this year.

That’s the arse kissing done. I’m here as you will probably know how our owner, David Clowes, reluctantly spent about 50mil of his own money to save the club he loves. Without him Derby County would cease to exist.

He has done his first in length interview today, 364 days after he saved us. Within that interview, he said how he has collected every Derby County programme since WW2. Except one.

Derby v Portsmouth, Baseball Ground, 1949-50 season. If anyone is a programme collector, knows of any, or just happens to have a spare one lying around, I would be very grateful to buy it from you. It’s a small act but I’d like to gift it to Mr Clowes to complete his collection as a show of gratitude for his generosity in saving us.

Would be grateful for any responses. Thank you.

That's a nice gesture to thank your new owner.

Could be difficult to obtain as that was one of our league title seasons. Suggest you contact the Pompey History Society. On their website there's a pdf version of that particular programme. At Fratton Park, there's also a 'Champions of England' exhibition with lots of material related to that season and the season before when we also won the league. Maybe worth booking a pre-match tour of the ground when Derby next visit Fratton?

Link below gives some info about the match programme:

Info DCFC v PFC

Good luck mate......... and if you end the season in second place and behind us then we'll all be happy!

In the info wonder why the home lineup contains the away players and vice versa?
