They should put in a couple of midweek cup games before the first league game. The early league cup and EFL trophy games would be perfect as final preparation, play one of them on a saturday in place of a friendly.

Good news that we had a behind-closed-doors friendly this afternoon - exactly what I was calling for a few posts earlier on this thread!
Very pleased our forwards banged in a few goals as well - keeps everyone competitive and hungry for a starting place against Bristol Rovers.
