RE: Cotterill - Tomsk - 25-01-2024

Good luck to him

RE: Cotterill - BabaOReally - 25-01-2024

Speaks their language. The carrot crunching hobbit.

RE: Cotterill - Sharpe* - 25-01-2024

Decent manager and quite frankly they are lucky to have him.

RE: Cotterill - mike hunt - 26-01-2024

He was gash here, personally don't rate him @ all. Dreadful football under him.

RE: Cotterill - bluetagagain - 26-01-2024

Plus he ‘gave away’ Matt Ritchie.

Fair enough but for a small club in League 2, down at the bottom, its not bad at all.

Could've sworn Joel Ward scored v Scum under Appleton....who replaced Cotterill.

His run in 2010 that included a 6-1 mauling of Lecister was still great,  we had some good moments under him before we tumbled downwards

RE: Cotterill - slayer - 27-01-2024

His attitude was fucking awful at Pompey. I met him! Prick

RE: Cotterill - Leys left foot - 27-01-2024

And Marlon Pack , he was a complete helmet when he was here, plus he was Judases mate

Yep. I remember the launch it long started when Lawrence & Kitson sort of went on strike. We'd been direct before but he took it to a whole new level @ that point. Absolutely dire to watch. Never took to him, interviews where often whinging about stuff. Never addressed the problems he created. And yes a complete helmet regarding Ritchie & Pack.
Apart from that he was great    Big Grin

Thanks for that. I had erased Kitson from my memory bank

RE: Cotterill - bluetagagain - 27-01-2024

He’s on my worst ever Pompey managers list since 1980 along with Fenwick, Paul Hart, Zajic ? , and Barker

RE: Cotterill - TBP - 27-01-2024

If I remember rightly, he was manager at a very difficult time, with players continually being sold from under him. He had to build three new teams in a season and didn't do a bad job of it.

Barker for me, all time worst.

Barker undoubtedly worst of all time plus was a complete arsehole. I had a lot of sympathy for Paul Hart, tried his best in difficult times

RE: Cotterill - bluetagagain - 27-01-2024

Personally I thought he was feckin useless and his tactics were even worse

RE: Cotterill - DeepBlue - 27-01-2024

I'd agree Barker was the worst, then Perrin, then Gregory for me. That's taking into account their character as much as their failure on the pitch.

I hated the football played by Pulis and Cotterill but can see the argument that it was necessary at the time.

RE: Cotterill - D'Alessandro dreaming - 27-01-2024

He got the nickname Steve Cotternil at Nottingham Forest and deservedly so. He's an experienced and OK manager in the bottom two tiers, never did much in the Championship. Richie Baroer was the worst by a mile. When we went 1-0 down under his stewardship it was always game over.

I felt sorry for Perrin, as he was always on a hiding to nothing. However I agree about Gregory, you can add him to the shit list, oh, and Pulis.

RE: Cotterill - simonfkwit - 28-01-2024

Perrin can live off the 4-1 - enough to keep him off my worst manager list.

Barker
Fenwick
Gregory
