Any significance that Cowley has been announced as head coach rather than manager ? Big emphasis on it in the announcement, with his brother also 'assistant head coach'.
Could it have been part of the reason for the delay in the announcement ?
And does it mean we're getting a DOF in the summer ?

Jordan Cross tweeted earlier that he asked the Cowleys about this and their response was "we don't really care about the title".
There is enough in recent quotes to speculate that someone else is coming in to replace the Cowleys in the summer so that's probably why they aren't fussed about their title!

I wouldn't be surprised to see a DOF arrive, for a couple of reasons:
1: It does seem like it is a deliberate strategy to try and scoop up the lower (and non) league talent with an eye to selling on. Reeko should make us a profit even if he only played once for us.
2: Kenny bought some absolute clangers: Bolton, Raggett, Harrison, Downing, Morris. And ended up with a very unbalanced squad.

It may be related to being run by Americans. I believe that over there they look at the guy running the team is a Coach, and there are other people that run things like player acquisition and contracts, outside income generation, FA administration etc. But that is speculation. I'm not a fan of that system, and think it doesn't work very well over here.
