John Mclelland RIP - exterminator - 18-06-2024
Successor to the injury hit Dave Dodson who recently passed away.
Played 150 games for us in mid 1960's. Was in my very early days of watching PFC but remember him as a very quick right winger & excellent crosser of the ball to Ron Saunders.

Was in the George Smith squad I encountered at my first matches. McCann, Pointer et al. I have his autograph. Very nice guy and a good player.

He was before my time but a Wikipedia search reveals the anorak fact that his wife is a GB Olympic Silver and Bronze medallist in the 4x100 metres!

Mine too. I seem to remember a game against Newcastle which we won 5-2, ands think he may have scored a couple. (Don't currently have access to my Pompey history books, so can't be entirely certain of that.) An exciting player to watch.
