Why does the summer transfer window need to be so long (10 weeks)?
At the very least it should end before the start of the next season. That would still give clubs plenty of time to plan and avoid disruption when games are under way.

I'd agree about it ending before the league season begins.
As it is, there is a strange sort of false start before it all settles down.
Should be the same window for sacking and hiring managers too, especially ones in a job already.
