Wigan - TBP - 04-04-2021

Should I put my weekly fiver on another 2-1 to Pompey?

RE: Wigan - Hammie - 04-04-2021

sounds good. But we could do with improving our goal difference now......

RE: Wigan - ForeverPompey - 04-04-2021

GD with both Blackpool and Lincoln is very close so a couple of 3 or 4 goal wins could be worth an extra half point. That said a 1-0 win against a team scrapping for survival will do.

RE: Wigan - Pedalo_menders - 05-04-2021

Most of Wigans games have a 1 goal margin in them, (barring a 5-0 loss to Hull and a 3-0 win over MK.)

I'd snap your hand off for a 1 goal win.

Their fans seem to be hoping that we will struggle without Marquis.

I suppose that’s an improvement on struggling with him in the side.

I hope he makes a big impact when he does get back in. Need to get some value out of a player who cost so much.

I'll grant you he can be a frustrating player but one goal every three games since he signed for us is not a bad record.

30 goals in 90 games surely counts as 'some value' for a 1.2m league one signing. And its not like he is a Pitman type striker who contributes little else other than goals to a team .. he works his bollocks off for the team.

I'm looking forward to Cowley's influence on him because I think he will vastly improve on what he did under Jackett.

Well said!

Not bad compared to the 8 in 60 return on a £4m investment of Will Grigg at Sunderland.

Just out of interest I noticed our stats from our last two games (and I thought it was similar against Ipswich but I can't find them now) were pretty identical... about 60% possession, 7/8 shots, 2/3 on target.

2-1 Pompey , Curtis, Raggett

Not far off...
61% possession v Ipswich 8 shots with 5 on target
