Just thinking about it. Are our best players of late all those who have been out injured at some stage during the season? Naylor has been ever present and looks far below his best. Jack looks back to his best. Johnson looks decent as ever. and so on through the team

Naylor unsurprisingly looks completely bolloxed. He plays every game and puts 110% into those games. Mystifyingly there is no ready replacement for him in the squad. Close or Cannon are not genuine holding midfielders so Naylor plays every game. I am sure he could play the Cowley style once he has some support. Player of the season for me. Still, we could always do a Jackett and give him a nice rest when we get to the playoffs!

If only he could pass the ball which should be a minimum requirement for a professional footballer, moves break down so often due his terrible passing.

Agreed. I've been banging on about the team's garbage passing for a long time. Naylor has a problem with long passes. He should be playing it short to Close. That's the brief of most defensive midfielders. If you're calling him out for his passing ability then at least be fair and include the whole of the team in that minimum requirement. All round he does a great job for us.

just coach and coach and coach him (and have one coach on the sidelines constantly reminding him) to pass it short and make sure the others give him options as quickly as possible. To Close would do me. or the two young loanees especially Byers.
