Looks like they've edged Mark Kelly out.

I don't think they said they were getting rid of it, they are having a clear out, I hope they haven't thrown out the Baby with the bath water.[Image: rolleyes.png]

It’s looks like a major reshuffle, whether with the Cowleys or someone else. Maybe the Eisners want a clear out and a new start

Who on earth told you that ? The academy is a key part of the club's strategy.

All that has happened is that a lot of final year scholars have been released as happens most years, It is rare for more than 2 per year to get professional contracts and 2 have this year.  I think people were perhaps surprised at which two though and maybe had expected Rew & Taggert or Bell.

The new academy manager replaces Jon Slater who had been filling in on a caretaker basis. Mark Kelly is unaffected and remains in his relatively new role as Player Development Manager.

I thought I heard Mark Kelly has resigned today.

RE: New academy manager - DeepBlue - 19-04-2021

You are right,  he has resigned. I hadn't seen that news.

Probably not unconnected to the new appointment, but he had been moved from the academy manager job some months ago. Perhaps he felt he should stay until a permanent appointment was made.

RE: New academy manager - Hammie - 19-04-2021

he seems to have said that having let all the decent young players go, he had no role. (As his role was to develop the older youth through to the first team)
