At least we'd be spared more awful performances.

Even worse, some of us may have been expected to turn up and watch.

Charlton win 4-0 but Oxford lose and get a Red Card, Pompey down to 8th.

Surprisingly, considering our recent form, we are still in with a chance of the playoffs, difficult to see how we would break our duck (of never winning a playoff game) with our current mob of under achievers.

Another season of disappointment looks like coming to a shabby conclusion.

I’d sooner go up as champions anyway. What’s the point of just going up on the back of mediocrity?
Promotions should be memorable, with the ground absolutely rocking. This brand of entertainment is merely a diversion from COVID but it’s nothing like the real thing.

Oh, it's mediocrity now. What with our record of consecutive wins and all.

The play offs are designed to reward mediocrity. I too prefer going again with a better team and winning the champions pot. Going up with no fans is a pointless exercise anyhow. Avoiding the play off circus will also give us more time to build a new squad.

I would take 6th on goal difference and scraping through the playoffs with two 1-0's

Then what Tomsk? The owners will think if the current squad is good enough to be promoted, then less to spend on players next season and we will be crucified in the Championship. Look what it's been like for Wycombe all season.
If we don't even get to the playoffs it will tell them what we already know - that we need to look at the squad and improve it.

You can write it on a Tablet of Stone, it won’t matter diddly-squat to Eisner if it doesn’t fit neatly into his mantra of  ‘ we only eat what we kill’.

RE: Missing the playoffs would be a cruel mercy. - Cressers - 22-04-2021

The trouble is, we're not killing.
