Brickie Burns - Hammie - 29-04-2021

Really lovely article in the New tonight. Not many pro footballers now would give it up to go and build houses.
Top bloke in one of the best pompey sides (and best days out) that I've had the pleasure to support.

Yep he had a bit of cult following if I recall. 100% effort in every game.

I would suggest some of the current crop should read the article to see what it meant to him to achieve his aim and to play for Pompey. Maybe it could inspire them to give their all in what’s left if the season because a couple of them have more natural ability than CB had but he made the best always of what he had.

He might not have been the most naturally talented player we have ever had, but boy he did try hard and on that score I remember him fondly. Found myself in his company on a few occasions when he played for us and him and his Mrs were lovely people. I hope he is doing well .

I hope he is doing well .
Reading the article, he seems very happy. Content with his life and choices. Far more than too many top pros who ended up drugged, drunk and broke.
Still involved with football and doing well

Yes, I saw the article & also remember him fondly as you say Not the most naturally gifted of players but gave 110% effort. Never shirked a tackle & took No prisoners. A credit to himself & the club. Another player I remember was Maitland Pollock same maximum effort again not the most talented but was a real trier.
