Why this obsession to turn Nicolaisen into a midfield player ? He has never played there and probably never will.
I'm going to assume Brown is not fit and predict we start with the same 11 as we did on Tuesday, with maybe Dowing in for Bolton.

Whilst Nico may not be a centre-midfielder, in terms of tackling, neither are Close or Cannon and we don’t command centre midfield on many occasions (yes, Cannon can tackle but too often with ruinous results).
Naylor is soldiering on with an injury according to DC
I can understand Stayinup wanting DC to add some bite to midfield though I doubt he will do so via Nico, it will be more of the same I guess.

I must admit I could see him playing there. He's mobile, quick enough and can pick a pass.
