His court case is coming up so perhaps the club did not want to be associated with that.

The Court case has been puit back to June, on the Cod Army Forum they seem to think his fall out with Chet Evans has caused the trouble, and the Owner has sided with Evans.

I have to admit being surprised by how well he has done. Maybe a leopard can change his spots.

Good. Horrible man and horrible football style. He's a wing-nut. Read his biography - surprised he ever got a managers job in the first place.

Yes I believe a leopard can change his spots... but I’m not sure it applies to mr Barton!

Judging objectively, he's done admirably.

That side were built in his image.

He's got something about him

Joey's proof himself that leopards can change their spots, he hasn't nutted any more opposition managers in the last 12 months.
I actually quite like him, he's obviously intelligent and speaks well and coherently unlike a lot of other football people, he's just got that streak in him that snaps every now and again, and when it does he goes well over the top.
Like others I've been quite surprised at how well he's done at Fleetwood. Somebody else will take a punt.

He certainly has done better than expected, and lasted longer before being sacked for some non-football related reason than expected (but how he avoided the sack after assaulting an opposition manager is beyond me !)

His football knowledge is good. He was a good if nasty player and is a good if nasty manager if you want to watch a team built to reflect his nasty character. He will always get results like lots of managers playing non-football, and will no doubt get a string of 'save us from relegation' jobs, but why anyone with any sense would want to put a man of his character in charge of people is beyond me - you are always just waiting for his next indiscretion. It's not a question of if he will go off the rails, but when.

First Barton, now Ched Evans is off to Preston
