Completely agree. It's so embarrassing it's laughable. Jackett must go tonight.

If he has any class at all, Jackett will resign at the end of the game, utterly sh*te performance against 3rd from bottom.
06-03-2021, 03:57 PM
Quite right. Sometimes the only way forward is to take a beating. At the hands of a team as poor as Northampton is quite something. Surely they will sack him today. The players look totally inept and disinterested and makes me wonder if they have the same hopes and are playing for that outcome.

if he does not go then Caitlin is going to receive an awful lot of abuse this week.
06-03-2021, 04:01 PM
I totally agree. The players aren't playing for him.
On that note though, i'm not too impressed with the players. They may not like the manager, but they need to play for the club, the fans, professional pride?
06-03-2021, 04:02 PM
Surely he has to go now ffs.
A change now just might salvage something from the season.

Don't let him resign SACK HIM !!!!!

I dont think Catlin has the authority to sack Kenny and the Eisners are too clueless to know it's what needs to be done.
I also doubt they have anyone lined up yet because if they did, why the fuck would they not have sacked kenny yet? If ever there was any lingering doubts about what needs to be done, this performance proves Kenny has to go. Immediately.

It’s probably just my memory going but I have never seen a Pompey league performance this bad......and I go back to season 1946/47, during our slide from Back to back Championships down to Division 4 there were some very poor showings but this is plumbing a new low.

Totally agree; and although it would be great to see a massive improvement, if someone steps in, it will leave a rather bad taste in the mouth for Professional players to go about their work that way. Something has gone wrong, and whether it is all KJ's fault will always debateable. And regardless, I am sure he is a decent man that deserves some respect. And I am sure that he would always have been trying his best. I am not sure I really want to know what it is that has gone wrong; I rather suspect that it might not be the nicest read.

Absolutely right that something has gone wrong...drastically so. We were top at Christmas, had the best defence by keeping more clean sheets and scored more goals than any other team in the division. Seriously, what on earth could have gone wrong??? What bugs me is that Jack was only saying last week what great team spirit there is in the squad. The best he had ever seen whilst being at the club! He’s not the first player to say that. Well you could have fooled us! It takes more than just team spirit to win games. Desire, passion and endeavour to name but a few. None of which has been displayed by the team in recent weeks.

You’re right, he’s a decent man and should do the decent thing and resign. We’ve had three seasons of Jackettball and it’s not pretty to watch. Yes, he’s had some success but we’re a big fish in this pond and should have got out of it ages ago. His tactics are outdated and his handling of certain players has been deplorable. Dropping Naylor for the playoffs last year and then not winning should have been enough to see him sacked. This mediocrity has gone on too long. Thank you and goodbye

He lost all my respect after the Coventry game being 3-0 up against 9 men and-sitting back, bringing on a defender and drawing the game.
For me that demonstrated his character and limitations and should of been sacked that night. Absolute Cowardice 9 men ffs

You obviously weren't at the Hawthorns when we lost 5-0 under Rix (4-0 at h/t). We were on a similar run to now, and unlike now weren't blowing a promotion chance. It took the club another month to bin Rix. Let's hope they move a bit quicker this time. Look what has happened at Burton since JFH took over. A change can do you good.

I totally get your point but Jordy Hiwula put Coventry one up after 3 minutes. It was at 3-1 they went down to 10 men and 3-2 down to 9. Think if that same game happened now and he could get 5 subs on, we would have ended up with a keeper, 9 defenders and a holding midfielder.

Shy te, Jimbon. I thought you were coming on to tell us he’d resigned

At the time, being 4-0 down to the team that had been propping up the division gives the context. KJ was quite clear with that action, they weren't doing enough, or maybe what they were told to do. That is where it gets murky. Jack's view of him not knowing a time with a better team spirit raises the question of what is Jack's interpretation of what team spirit is? It certainly can't be the ability of them circling the wagons and achieving great things to get out of a hole by supporting each other. Something is badly wrong, and when you get a 4 man substitution at halftime, that alone tells you the manager is not getting what he has asked for. What to do? Maybe the players know someone has already been lined up to replace him? I am going to guess that KJ will go to the Eiseners and want backing on binning players. Only if he doesn't get it would he then resign. He will want to see his contract out or get paid off for it. He can legitimately claim constructive dismissal if he doesn't get it. That is all pissing in the wind, and I have no idea what is actually going on, just trying to bring a bit of logic to the situation, but something is badly wrong.

He waited another 15 minutes before chucking on another 4 so I don’t know what he was thinking there either. Maybe hoping they would react to their dismal showing with some pride. Didn’t happen.

Oh yes, I remember that game, some bloke at the front got lobbed out by about 5 stewards for trying to throw his pompey shirt onto the pitch, he still managed to do it... cant remember at what point 1st or 2nd half, but me and my mate left, and passed him walking down some street... In fact of only 2 games I have left early, it was another game at the Hawthorns, another 4-1 I think, it was absolutely freezing, I'd ran out of cigarettes, think Walshy played in Macca for our reply... But that wasnt a team wanting promotion, Im in the 'I dont think they want promotion' camp

It could be a number of factors. A manager running down his contract is never going to be best motivated knowing he is looking for a job in the summer. How many of the current squad would make decent championship players? Maybe, as a player knowing that you are not good enough for the next level you might not be inclined to try hard to effectively put yourself in a position we’re you are looking for another club at your present level or worse. Owners out of touch and out the country and a CEO that is king of his own little empire, that has also lost touch with reality. But in reality who the fook cares what is wrong, we just expect better than the recent shit that has been served up.
