Biggest game since Jackett famously rested Naylor. Once more unto the breach dear friends. We’ll fight them on the beaches. Portsmouth expects etc…
The biggest baddest Bolton battle to basically balloon the blues to bedlam

Snot a bad effort, DSMG. Only slightly behind the one I had in mind.
A good nine out of ten. So one game away from promotion. How many do we win by, that’s the question. I’m going for a narrow 2-1 win for the champs in blue.

We'll need some serious character and performance to get a win here. Bolton have 10 goals in their last two home games.

We're unbeaten in 15. Let's make it 16 and close this thing out. 2-3 to the Bluessssss

Bolton 3-1 Pompey
They will be too strong for us at their place.

Not too confident of this one, I'd take a dull 0-0 or 1-1, but I think it'll be a 2-0 or 2-1 to Bolton

Bolton are strong at home and have shown good character there, with a healthy knack of winning whilst being poor.
The importance and complexion of the game is ripe for a duff ref too. I will happily scrape through with a a draw here and hopefully then we can do the business at home in front of our fans the following outing.

I've stated before that we'll get promoted at Bolton but...it would be great to win promotion at home to Barnsley and be crowned Champions at home to Wigan. Two celebrations at home in one week. Could anything be a more perfect finish to a brilliant season?

I think we’ll draw then win at home against Barnsley

We are due a game where all the shots that hit our woodwork go in.
Where Norris gets a ref who gets annoyed by his pratting about and books him early. and where our playing from the back and messing it up results in a couple of goals. Apart from that all will be fine!

We've not lost to any of the next 6 teams below us. We made Derby look ordinary home and away and Bolton barely laid a finger on us at home. No reason we can't go to theirs and win.
Raggett 95th minute header to send us up.

To play Yengi who frightened their best defender to death, or Bishop?

It will be my birthday next Saturday (I will officially become an OAP!). Won't be at the game as but a win and clinching promotion would be the best possible birthday present.

There's a pragmatic side of me that says put a second string side out as much as possible. I'm talking Towler, Sparkes MPH, Whyte and Martin with Stevenson, Evans, maybe Saydee as lone striker and just attack the last three games with fresh first choice players. Of course that would be disastrous if we then also lost to Barnsley anyway.

I absolutely do not care if we play like Brazil or Bromley in this run in. All that matters is crossing that promotion line. This side with this manager will find a way.

A tough challenge with so much riding on it for both teams.
I guess when we think about the pressure of winning, it's definitely more on Bolton than us. I'll back us, to at least get a draw, as per normal we'll go out to win and that may well be the result.

We need to put our best side out & soak up their initial pressure. Then hit on the breakaway. Their dangerman is Aaron Collins so need to keep him quiet. They will probably target Ogilvie & try balls over the top for him to run onto. He is lethal cutting in from the right. I'm sure Mouse has already taken this on board though. Prediction 1-1 & then get promoted at home.

Collins has been a well documented flop at Bolton, going 25 games without a goal until about a month ago. Since then he has started scoring regularly again. |
