Edit Reason: Ten not two ffs
)
Prior to Cheltenham, I thought if we could get ten points from the next 5 it could set us up for a run of favourable fixtures.
So 4 points from the next 3, take the momentum and who knows...

It's the hope that kills you.
Unfortunately I don't think even 11 wins will be enough (as tough as that is already). Just going to enjoy us playing some good football and hope that The Moose is planning ahead for next seasons promotion challenge.

I’m just happy to see the desire and passion and what the shirt means . Crowd responded to it on Tuesday and it’s been a long time since that feeling around the ground was in evidence . Big ask to get near the play offs , but as long as they have a go , that’ll do for me . Cowley fooked it up for us this season with his dross management .Next season hopefully be a brighter future

there is one of those mini leagues appearing at the top with so many "big" clubs with more money to spend all in this division for various reasons. Which makes the points required difficult to call.
On the other hand, we're heading in to the part of the season where the topsides get rolled over by the relegation fighters

We need to outperform 4 teams to get in the playoffs, and makexup 11 points. That isn't very likely now, is it. It's not pessimism, you're just living on a different planet. Planet Dinlo.

If we get 11 then then we will indeed outperform considerably more than 4 teams above us and easily make up 11 points. But thinking that if we did manage to get them then 81 points would be enough when the average needed for 6th place is 73 is perfectly reasonable. Certainly getting into the playoffs from where we are now no harder mathematically than winning the league 2 championship was in 2017 from wherever we were with 14 games to go.

I don’t see the point of getting on the side of the optimists or the pessimists. Everything is possible and we can only do our own part. We have no control over what the teams above us will or won’t do, unless we play them.
What is almost certain, is that most of the teams above us won’t get as many points as they wish. How many points will they take off each other? The question is, how many will they drop??

Working on the average PPG as it stands 1.5 points per game have been collected, at that present rate of 1.5 X 14 games it would give us 69 points. So, with the best of intentions and all that, it points to league one football next season. let's hope it's our last and we can be a force for promotion next time PUP!

Probably working off ACB for the points per game to get a better idea.

PPG under Mousinho would be a better assumption, but the whole reason for the optimism has to be that we now look capable of doing better then we have all season from now on so past form does not have to be a constraint.

beat Barnsley and the Owls and we can start dreaming

Whichever way you cut it, the odds are stacked against us. We are yet to hit 2 points per game under Mousinio. Conversely, the points per game of the top 6 all have them finishing on well above 80 points. Ergo, our form still needs to pick up, in addition to at least 4 teams form tanking. And we have to get past Barnsley away and Sheff Wed's at home. It'll be nice to see us have an impact on the promotion race, but we are (unfortunately) not a contender this year.

but we can have some fun beating those who are!

Ten wins sounds more achievable than 11.
I reckon Barnsley and Bolton are vulnerable. Whether that’s to us is debatable.
05-03-2023, 08:20 AM
20 points from a possible 30 for his 1st 10 games in charge is a pretty return considering what he walked in to. If we can avoid losing to Barnsley I think we will give Wednesday a decent game!
