(If you are not still referring to Brexit) and I am quite content being an old man, it’s a triumph to get this far. Yes I hate the Guardian because it is a laughable rag. As for the drone footage of the pitch invasion, I saw that pretty much as soon as it went up and didn’t go anywhere near the Guardian to see it.

How about the Daily Mail?

The only way you could do EU-exit harder would be to make the Uk part of the Americas, Asia, Antarctica or Australasia… jus’ sayin’

Fook the EU, no Surrender.

Apparently the EFL are threatening that the trophy ceremony won't go ahead if there is any pitch invasion this Saturday. I can't imagine anyone will bother for a dead rubber but you never know.

Edit Reason: typo

Enough of a threat to make the club post a video message from Mousinho on the PFC WhatsApp channel specifically asking for fans not to invade the pitch on Saturday. I expect the vast majority of fans would concur with that but there's bound to be a few morons who try.. hopefully not enough to spoil the party.

Indeed Pete - very noticeable sadly on Tuesday night , many JCL's going beyond reasonable.
Please do not spoil the party .

There's only one way to right that wrong if you see a JCL nipper making it about themselves. The same way we righted each other when we were that age. It needs to hurt and everyone needs to see it

Going to be difficult to stop the handfull of wrong un's we have.
Looking forward to celebrating from the stands.

If we want a trophy presentation I assume we will all need to remain off the pitch? Here's hoping!!

The really annoying thing about the dins who ran on after the Shockers goal was that you could see a few of them had their phones ready. They just wanted something to put on twatter or tiktok, nothing spontaneous about it whatsoever.

Quite a few fell arse over tit, see the Barnsley guy’s vlog. FAF

How did the fans manage to stay off the pitch for Harry's team to get presented? That was a far greater achievement than this but we managed it somehow. What's changed since?

It’s the whole UEFA/ Champions League thing. The cup and medals presented on the pitch on a Dias , then a lap of honour by the players/staff and their families etc. Spontaneity like FA cup replays is a thing of the past .

Solution should be easy. Announce in advance of the game, and 5 mins before start of game, and at half time, that anyone going on the pitch will receive an automatic 10-year ban with no right of appeal. Likewise anyone carrying or throwing a flare or coins etc. That also covers the club in case some idiot(s) do as it will show the club took the whole issue seriously.

The various authorities love a mid sized club to make an example of. (19-04-2024, 09:07 PM)bluetagagain Wrote: It’s the whole UEFA/ Champions League thing. The presentation on the pitch followed by the lap of honour is a log established tradition and nothing to do with UEFA. We don't often get a trophy to present but I cannot remember a season when we did not do a lap of honour around the pitch after the last game of the season after requesting fans to stay off the pitch. And what is spontanoeous about cup replays and what does that have to do with pitch invasions anyway ?

Sounds like the efl are a bit out of touch. Of course we invaded the pitch to celebrate with the players on Tueaday. We're not gonna do it on Saturday ffs. We know the drill. Invasions are for the game you achieve the promotion, not the game the trophy is presented.
We're not fick, innit

Ok so ‘we’ had our moment on Tuesday now’s the time to let the players have the moment they have worked so hard to achieve. Let them be centre stage to receive the league 1 champions cup and their medals. I’m pretty sure they’ll share it with supporters after the presentations.
In summary please “Stay off the Pitch” for all our sakes.

I've just seen a picture of JPFCW on Tuesday, with the pitch fully invaded and he is still up in the Fratton End.
I wonder if he was worried that if he went on the pitch, he would have been targeted for a ban? Or just getting old and has pitch invaded enough for one lifetime? |
