Having trawled around various sites it seems pretty much nailed on the Saturday iFollow service isn’t going to happen this season, midweek games are a possibility if both sides agree and SKY don’t intend to show the game.
If the government reimpose restrictions the service may be reinstated in some form.
Some clubs are trying to persuade the powers that be to allow them to beam away games back to their Grounds/Hospitality areas but EFL don’t seems overly supportive.
Interesting numbers from iFollow 20/21, Norwich and Watford both made £1 million from the iFollow service with Ipswich and Bolton not far behind, even Carlisle made £320,000, no figures for Pompey but I would expect them to be up there with Ipswich and Bolton.
A lot of people will doubtless be trawling for a bullet proof VPN so as to still access the service (having organised an iFollow season ticket through a foreign address).
The problem will be solved for me if the US and British government allow travel between the two countries and airlines actually fly LHR/LAX, then Mrs WB and myself can depart to California from January until May as normal. An iFollow season ticket for c. $150 is a bargain compared with £10 a throw in U.K.
